When the Christmas Chimes are Ringing
I'm excited to introduce an almost entirely forgotten Christmas carol from the 1920s titled “When the Christmas Chimes Are Ringing.” This charming piece has nearly vanished from history—until now! What an exciting find!
Although no known scores have survived and very little historical information exists about the piece, one vintage recording remains. There’s also possible evidence that a song by the same title may have appeared on player piano rolls from that era.
Now, intermediate piano students can enjoy this newly restored arrangement—bringing its delightful tune back to life for the Christmas season. In this rendition, the melody remains true to the vintage recording but features a more upbeat waltz tempo. It concludes with a new, original section that captures the joyful sound of church chimes ringing on Christmas morning.
