​Pumpkin Bread is a simple piano solo designed for early elementary students, using notes from the traditional Middle C position. The rhythm consists entirely of quarter notes, making it an excellent choice for reinforcing a steady beat and practicing counting out loud. The piece is primarily in 4/4 time, with a few measures in 3/4 near the end. It also introduces E-flat and E-natural, which can be taught by rote. This is an ideal performance piece for a first autumn recital!
